Amy E. Herman’s ted talk expresses that through art analysis, it can help train those to enhance their communication skills by describing what they’re seeing .Observation and analyzation can be helpful in our day to day lives or even in very important situations. For example, Amy mentions a cop reporting for backup and describing the severity of the situation. But once the backup arrives, they notice that the scene isn’t what the officer described at all. This is what she means when she says that art can sometimes save lives . When you walk into a museum it is the most self aware place to be in, why because everyone is looking at certain works of art and analyzing the details to create it . They’re using their eyes to find its meaning, hidden message, or even just to enjoy its form of structure, some even formulate questions as to why something may look the way it does. In our daily routine, we rely on our eyes to get us through the day and our words to respond to others. But if we go back to a basic format of learning we would say in order to teach a child words we use a picture book which then lets a child understand what a specific item is to a specific word. we notice that when we point to a word with an image above it a child will then try to formulate the word and point to the image hinting that they see what you are doing and understand what that image is . So that later on when they see a truck rolling down the street, they will be able to identify it. We use art as an aid to teach us how to observe , identify ,and create descriptions so that we may progress in life and our careers.

Why Art Matters
Why art matters. I never thought about this problem before. The video gave me some inspiration which let me know the significance of art.
As we all know, we can’t live without water, food and air. But it seems we can live without art. After I saw this video, I totally changed my mind. Art is important for everyone. If we compare our work to bread, then art is the medicine to heal our soul. Try to imagine a picture like this, a young man just got off work at midnight. He is so tired that he doesn’t even want to talk to anyone. He feels hopeless about his messy life. He wants to cry for his failure, but he can’t. So he put on his headphones and plays his favorite music. When the beautiful voice flows into his ears, his world is lightened up. The music gives him strong power and energy to fight. He feels that he is a brave knight, and the music is his sword which helps him against all the difficulties he meets in his life. For this young man, the music is his best medicine to remove all his troubles and makes his life full of hope.
Art is not the precious crown displayed in the palace which is unaccessible for the normal people like us. If you are a good observer, you will find that art exists everywhere like air. A beautiful house you see on the street is a kind of art. A fashionable dress you see in a shop is a kind of art. An impressive movie you watch in the cinema is a kind of art. So just slow down and look around, you will notice that you live in an art world.
why art matters
We all live in art, even if we are not aware of. The first video by Dr. Steven sucker and Dr. Beth Harris, clearly explains that we do not have to go to museum to see an art . We can easily see it on streets, parks , building , movies, etc . Every art has a story to tell. It’s all about noticing.Art allows us to develop new ways to think and express what might not be understood through the writing or speaking alone. Art can simply be a form of communication between people to focus on common issues for the betterment of society.Sometimes Art allows to visualize our past and see new opportunities that humanity can create in the future.
How Art Can Help Us Analyze.
In this Ted Talk that is presented by Amy Herman which shes answers how art can help us analyze. She explains and presents a view that the way you analyze and perceive an art work could be translated in to the real world that can help law enforcement agents, doctors, nurses and many other professions alike gain real world skills through art analysis . She explains that doing this is a way that can help them be better situated and analytical for the many issues that may arise from their profession work thus making them “better at it”.
It’s ridiculous to me how she compares each example with an art work demonstrating that knowing how to analyze art work would help in a situation with a doctor diagnosing a patient illness, or a police officer not accurately stating the amount of robbers there are in a stressful problem or the office in solving a crime scene by sketching details of a criminal features which a traumatized victim would remember their key features that distinct them?? Art doesn’t help them analyze real life situations that are complex and difficult to them but rather each of the respected professions had to undergo their training and major on their study so that could attain the experience and preparation needed in their careers.
If a doctor, nurse or a cop needed to hone their skills they could simply reach out to other colleagues in their field or go and even train themselves to better understand the situation that they may face. While I could see what shes trying to claim, it just seems plausible without any concrete backings from any studies, trials or evidence I simply can’t take this bluntly or sensibly.
What are your thoughts regarding this? I simply am dazzled by how she didn’t see without any proof that anyone would go along with her claim, watching the clip just gets me confused and flabbergasted. All of her examples were just based on a single artwork and basic situations. I don’t even like art in anyway as it’s very complex and tense for me but even I would be able to tell not to equate professions that are risky and critical to our daily lives to art analysis, that’s just undermining the efforts and training they went through to reach to the point where they can be in service of others .If anything it could help develop your analytical skills but art is not the first thing I would have in my mind for cops and doctors to undergo for their development and training,
Why art matters
The video “why art matters” states that art always carries messages and the way that artist expresses their feelings and their living conditions. Art is an unwritten language. The artist should be freelance and independent. art has a significant role throughout history, there is a strong connection between art and history. We saw Egyptian, Babylon, and greek ancient civilization use art to recorded and preserved their heritages on temples walls, stones, and etc. In wars and revolutions, the artist used art as a weapon to protest against their governments and authorities.the artist use art to express their personal suffering such as Frida Kahlo was a Mexican artist and she was iconic symbols of the feminist movement. She drew herself on a portrait that showed her suffering as a woman. The starry night is one of the masterpieces of art, it was drawn by Vincent Van Goch. Van Gogh found his place in art and produced emotionally, visually feelings lasted a decade. In the video, they mentioned art is not only seeing the art in the museum but also on street walls. Graffiti arts are modern art followed by modern artists and They try to encourage and influence people to see art and painting everywhere.
Why Art Matters
As time passed, the definition of art has changed a lot comparing to past time.Art is not only a particular word for those elegant designs or expensive painting. Therefore ,every person can likely be in touch with different forms of art now , once we pay more attention to those little things we never noticed before,we will realize how wonderful they are. After going through this process we can learn excellent skills which are observing tiny things and thinking deeper. The first video Why Art Matter convinced me by its clear explanation and examples. And it also answered me a question that I was wondering for a long time.Nowadays, many people live in a life of fast pace with tremendous pressures. As a result ,people now are easily becoming colder and more angry .This situation is especially severe in some large population country and if we can’t fix this problem that the whole circumstance of society will be worse and worse. From my point of view, art probably is a good solution to solve this problem. People who have huge pressures will be always anxiety, however, sometimes these pressures don’t come from their surroundings but come from themselves.Hence, enjoying arts can not only ease their pressures but also can enrich their spiritual world. In addition, they may realize if they can stop a while and observe something deeper, they are able to clear their confused mind so that they can solve the problem from the base because they may find beauty of life now.
How Art Can Help You Analyze
Art can give us meanings, purpose or information. Also, it helps us to identify things. And helping by an art is very common in our life. For example: if we get hit/damaged by a criminal we describe the criminal’s face/voice/appearance to a police officer or a detective and they make view/art of the criminal. And somehow they manage to find and capture the criminal. They gather their thoughts to find the victim. And here an art view to analyze things which are helpful. As a result, art helps to analyze difficult problems by different perspective and details. I really think that art also helps us to investigate and its common in our life and a good ability also. However, art is important because we live in a photographic world. It can give us knowledge or information and it can communicate with us. I think that art has the power to give us a message and the message can be helpful/supportive.
How can art help you analize?
How can art help you analyze? In today’s society people do not give much importance to art. most people have art in their house or apartment just for decoration. But what if that painting that you have hanging in your living room has a story to tell? Analyzing is a very important skill for most careers/professions. As described in the video it can help to save lives either you are a doctor, police officer, teacher, etc. By simply looking at an art people are able to learn and see the authors point of view but sometimes you have to focus on it. I think that a painting is the reflex of the author’s feeling or mood. Art is a way to communicate to others and explain what words can not say. If a person is able to interpret the art language, most likely they will be able to analyze a crime scene (in the case of a police officer) or a patient illness by just looking at the visual symptoms (if it’s a Doctor). Also, body language is very important, a teacher for example can have an idea if a student is going through a situation in their lives. But all this can only be possible if you are able to “analyze” the situation and by analyzing art paintings is a very good way to learn this skills.
Why Art Matter
Art is a diverse range of human activities in creating visual, auditory or performing artifacts, expressing the author’s imaginative, conceptual ideas, or technical skill, intended to be appreciated for their beauty or emotional power. In the first video “Why Art Matters”, it demonstrates four people base their comprehension to explain to us that art affects people’s ideas through vision, it can be displayed in any form and in any way. when they look at it, art develops the thinking of people. Art can be anything. Thus, they highlight that art is significant in people’s lives because art expands and deep thinking.
In traditional art, art may be hard to understand, but as the times progress, I think art has changed a little bit. People start to relate between real life and art. Art comes from life. More and more artists start to create art in very easy ways which is very prevalent right now. This is why more and more people are concerned about this. In fact, art is closer to people’s lives which is more accepted and understood by ordinary people. Moreover, most of the time art uses itself to communicate with people. It becomes a method in which people can get information or people start deeply thinking. This is special to art and it is more visual than other sciences or activities.
Also, I feel art is not only the communication between art and people. In fact, it also promotes the communication between people. Through an artwork, people who do not know each other can resonate or have a consistent view. It can also expand or develop people’s different views of the same thing, this kind of thing in this era, has been a direct way to promote communication and create activities.
Why art matters
Why art matters? As the saying goes that picture speaks a thousand words. So does an art. It is scientifically proven that our brain process visual images faster than written information. During the era of social media, it is full of visual images. We are Learning to read art in detail can make a difference in how better person one can be. In the video, ” Why art matters” it tell us that art is of wide variety. It can be painting and sculpture to watching architectural beauties around cities, a bird in park or simply going for a movie. Many popular arts have the tendency to draw many viewers often. Every other visit gives them a deeper and broader meaning of the art. These attention and awareness skill gained will later have a positive impact in one’s life. Art has remained a very important components of our history by playing a powerful medium through which artist communicate ours and their ideas, feelings and convey their messages. It has helped artist express their opinions visually through paintings, sculptures and musics. At times of political unrest, the art played a significant role in venting out discontentment and frustration of people with the oppressors. However, every people can have a different opinion on a particular piece of work. It doesn’t necessarily reflect the artist view. It can be totally different from what the artist had in his mind. I think this is the beauty of art. Every art can be particular to each individual. An artwork’s effect can be nuanced by each viewer’s mental state and therefore can be interpreted differently.
