As a sonic example, I picked the video, where just based on the visual part, we can not ostensibly see anything really special. But if we turn on the sound of the video, we can hear the clapping of people, which pay the tribute to all the essential workers, especially medical workers in New York City during the Corona-virus pandemic. I think that even the small, personal gadget like is headsets and listening to some music could manipulate all perception of walking down the street and steal from us such a surreal moment when all the people were connected by the current situation and were captured in the presence. Probably each of us, who heard that clapping, realized that we are all here for each other and we felt the connection with strangers, which is so rare nowadays. It was a scary time, especially at the beginning of the pandemic, when nobody knew what is going to happen next. But at that time, we were all together showing and sharing compassion, humbleness, and appreciation to those, who were risking their own life every single day. This is probably an extreme example of the possible manipulation of the moment by the different sounds coming into our ears. But maybe it is a good example to better realize, how differently we can see the world by spacing out from the presence by using modern technology in general.

Sonic Examples : The Benefits of Digital Music

I started making my own music back in 2000. I used a program called Fruity Loops. I created original hip hop beats that my friends and I would make raps to. Fruity Loops had a correction method that would take any note recorded and “fix” it by placing the note on the closest ⅛ of a beat. It completely removed the elasticity of the live music or analog music. The program allowed me to take samples of other music and let me stretch it or shrink it to a very precise rhythm. Krukowski feels that something may be lost to the imperfections of digital music, but I think in some musical forms, digital music creates a pleasing symmetry. It allows an amateur musician to create unique sound combinations that can be extremely enjoyable musical compositions.

The introduction of Musical Instrument Digital Instrument or midi has allowed us to play and create an infinite number of instruments and sounds that can be put together to make new and interesting musical arrangements. These rhythmic songs are great for dancing and I think that is one of the major reasons that digital music has become the standard. While I agree there are times when the elasticity of time in music can add a certain charm, I also see the very distinct benefit to the creation of digital music. I think both analog and digital music both deserve their due place in the world of music.

The song “Happy Birthday to You” is song for singing and celebrating someone’s birthday.According to the 1998 Guinness World Records, it is the most recognized song in the English language in the world.Besides, I think it is translated to many different languages, which might also a reason why it’s so famous around the world. And maybe what some people listened in the first time is the translation version birthday song.I can’t remember when I first time heard this song, but I can still remember I felt very happy and warm when my parents and relatives sung the song and clapped their hands at the same time. From my perspective, I feel the birthday song is quite fabulous firstly because it can be sung with unaccompanied, secondly it could be easily arranged to different styles of music, which could be blues, jazz and even rock.I believe many people have the same feeling as me that although birthday song probably is not my favorite song, it’s a song we can hardly forget.

This video I found online. I like it because these sounds come from life, and each sound is something we hear every day. In our life maybe these sounds do not catch people’s attention because this is too general and we can hear about this everyday. We can hear about so many sounds in there such as butterflies’ wings flapping, lighting matches, and cats sticking out their tongues, water drops, voices of people, bubble gum, clink of glasses. The editor uses ultra-high-powered, military-grade microphones. Of course, the combination of this video also gives me a new understanding of digital music. Digital music is not only presented in digital virtualization and noisy rhythm, but also can adapt music into another form to present to the audience. This is creating.  In addition, I feel digital music is not only recording sounds. It is also recording action.  Using technology and “real” sounds to create music will be very popular.

I have read the article that “Is Music a Good Tool For Health?” by Elizabeth Scott explains about music can help people treat disease and promote movement. Also, music can stimulate your brain to give to you some idea and help you concentrate. Music can control your heart rate and breathing which can help you to relax. I think music is a language all the people and animals know all music has feelings. Music can help each other heal their disease and benefit anyone.
In the world, every country has its own music, but you listen to music you can feel the singer’s feelings. Animals are the same as dolphins and whales. We can hear their song and know they are lonely or rejoice. We do not speak the same language, but we know it. This is music’s power. As like as I often listen to songs in other languages. I did not understand a lot of words in that music. I only knew a few words, but I knew the singer felt sad. The music was slow. When I heard this music, I am felt the man was crying. If you concentrate on the music, you can get into the world created by the music. Let you feel the singer’s heart through music. You know what he’s talking about because music is a language that reaches the heart.
Music’s’ power is great. It saves many people’s lives. Some pain management depression patients can listen to music and change their minds about committing suicide. Before I saw a news about cows. People played music for the caw. The cow made more milk. It proves music’s power is great. I believe anybody should like music when they are lonely. If you listen to happy music at the party, you can feel happier. If you listening to sad music can help you get out of the sadness.
We need music. Music is a special language that enables us to better understand other people’s feelings. We can feel it and also animals can feel it. music can help us get out of difficulty. So, I like music, because it expresses my heart.

Music is a good way to feel the moment. It has been prepared by using melody, rhythm also harmony. I really think that we all have a specific moment related to a specific song. A song can bring or create moments. However, once I had a good-old MP4 player when I was in high school. I used to have audio and video songs on that. Most of them are audio songs. On that MP4 I only have rock-metal songs. These songs helped to elevate my vibes. The reason is I used to be a soccer player and the rock and metal songs, especially by the great artist such as Three Days Grace, Disturbed, Slipknot, Avenged Sevenfold, Linkin Park, Skillet, Papa Roach, Breaking Benjamin, Tool, System of A Down, Killswitch Engage and many more helped me to build/increase my confidence during playing soccer. That’s why I played soccer at that time effortlessly, and nobody knows this reason. However, I still listen to those artists and surprisingly the specific songs by those artist brings me back to the feelings/moments what I got in the past. It feels absolutely real and wonderful. I know the time will not come, but the moment can easily go through our heats with emotions by music. Everyone loves music and I really believe that music has the greatest power to escape us from the reality or world.

It makes me nostalgic for the iPod i had when i was still in school. My first iPod was the smallest, music player with no internet connectivity. Back in early 2000, options for entertainment were limited. Watching pretty much anything that broadcasted in television was fun until i had iPod. It delivered the utter joy that I experience the first time i used with the thin black headphones. I would practice dance with the headphone on for the school activities. It gave the opportunity to rewind and listen and practice again and again.IT gave me a personal soundscape which I think provide me a power to concentrate. I would feel every beats of the music and was easy to remember the dance choreography. It was easily portable as well as considered stylish back then. Some of the soundtracks that I still listen, can transport me back in time. I could feel that “real “time. I could feel what I was thinking or relate things at that particular moment that wonderful moment that I had experienced.

Everyone loves music but have different ways to enjoy it. Either listening to the song, humming the tunes or playing the instruments. Each one has its own choice in linking oneself to music. Some of those folks are the ones who actually play an instrument or compose music. Musical instruments are a type of sound sources or energy. My experience with musical instruments was learning piano when I was 7 years old. Music is a sound that pleases our ears, lift our mood up whenever we are feeling down, touches your soul and heals everyone’s mind. It can be used as a meditation for some people, sometime. For me, I used the piano keys as an escape from reality. I used to play the piano on some songs, record it and listen to it while walking anywhere, cooking or even studying. What’s more, it helped me in relieving stress, connecting my thoughts and not to listen to the noise in the outside environment. I can’t hear the noisy honks, workers using machine or people talking to each other while I’m having a walk. Music is always a best friend. It helped me in escaping from my thoughts and people’s noise, a lot.

After listening to EP1, “Time in the ways of hearing” by Damon Krukowshi, talks about how we use digital technology to change the way we make music. How we are able to go back to remove and/or change the way the music is edited from its original. Krukowhi, explain how he would take sounds from music from other artists to create his own. I happen to hear this a lot to the music I listen to. They have use piece and bits of the original music and add new sounds to it. Now in days, the big-name DJ’s that play in festivals are known for this. For example, DJ Hero song Just Blow (https://youtu.be/Bf5Ncpn6udU) was published on April 12,2013 and on April 23, 2017, Tiësto create a track called BOOM ( https://youtu.be/tSJSVmfaMCs ). On 2019, the F.H Crew used both of these to create a remix of both tracks to create one (https://youtu.be/94q1f7pmwJc). This for me a explain the Damon Krukowshi was talking about when I was listening to “Time in the way of hearing”

The Beatles – We Can Work It Out

The Beatles performing “We Can Work It Out.” “In “We Can Work It Out, Paul did the first half, I did the middle eight. But you’ve got Paul writing, ‘We can work it out, we can work it out’ – real optimistic, y’know, and me impatient, ‘Life is very short and there’s no time for fussing and fighting my friend’.”

My father has been a fan of “The Beatles” band since his youth. All my childhood was filled with songs of this legendary four. Each time, the sounds of the Beatles songs take me deep into childhood when my father and I listened to these songs on vinyl players and reel players every day. Over time, these songs began to sound from my father’s cassette player when he drove me to school. Gradually, this habit of listening to the Beatles’ songs grew into a love of this group. In present, listening to these songs in my car or through the headphones creates my personal hidden space in which I can disconnect from the real world full of problems and obligations. The familiar sounds of the Beatles songs like a cozy blanket cover me with memories and return me to a carefree childhood. Certainly, sounds pleasant to our hearing help us create some kind of hidden space for thought and creates a romantic and slightly utopian world. On the other hand, this is a shelter created by ourselves in which we can, with the help of sounds, be inspired and gain experience.
